hello, there are not definitel studies out there to support empirically how long you can take Wellbutrin SR (bupropion sr); we do no that taking the an antianxiety medication, such as Ativan (lorazepam), addiction, mental and phycial can occur. In fact, the Ativan may be contributing to her balance challenges, possibly. However, is her provider a geriatric psychiatrist? If not, I would strongly recommend getting her to one for a second opinion. If so, I would even ask your prescriber for a second opinion. This is a delicate art and the more information the provider, your mother and yourself have, can only benefit the situation giving you more options. If you don't have a psychiatrist which specializes in geriatrics, then call your local four year college psychiatric program. Usually, they have outpatient clinics where medical residents see clients for psychotropic medication management. However, I would clearly be emphatic that you want to see one of the overseeing professors, psychiatrist, which specializes in geriatrics or has a lot of experience with that age spectrum. This is not a situation where you where you want a resident provider determining course of care and treatment even if they are overseen by "real thing." I hope that this helps and the best to your mother and yourself, Cindy
