... detoxed and remember that the first time I was very sluggish for about a month before I felt like myself again. This time around I am not sluggish but I have extreme anxiety. I have been prescribed lorazepam but would like to know what else will help other than taking medication. What natural things can I do or eat that will help with my anxiety?
Hey, walking ( although I am sure you don't feel like it) or other light exercise help produce natural endorphins ( brain chemicals that make you feel better) and helps reboot the damaged neurotransmitter/receptor sites in the brain. If you will google the Thomas recipe opiate withdrawal and look at the recipe and the journal Thomas kept on his progress, you will see supplements and over the counter medications that he used to alleviate different symptoms of withdrawal. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
hi eg,anxiety can come from so many outside sources, lack of sleep is a major cause of anxiety so is poor nutrition. find a good multi vitamin and take it with meals.pomagranite(sp) juice is great for your brain.green tea "make your own" good for cleaning out your system.meditation is a way to calm yourself,it really works.lorazopan is ok for short term use but can be very addictive if used frequently. post acute withdraw syndrome is what you'll be going through for a few months. being aware of when it's happening to you can help ease your mind. even talking about what is going on in your life can be a stress reliving.in shor, recognizing when you may encounter causes of anxiety, will help you deal with it best... pete
