How long after stopping niaspan is it safe to take a no-flush over the counter niacin?

You will be able to start any time but you should contact your doctor first for a dose recommendation.
Niacin may cause temporary flushing, itching and tingling, feelings of warmth and headache, particularly when changing brands.

If you are changing brands because of the side-effects (flushing) talk with your doctor.
Aspirin or a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug given half an hour before niacin may help with this.
