The medication you are describing is Hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is in the Opioid family which are known as narcotics. It works just like any other opiate. Hydrocodone relieves pain by binding to opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord which relieves the pain you are experience. This is just a little of what it actually does but that's the gist of it. Hope this helps! Good luck to you!
