I know PTSD is more commonly known in those who have been in the military who have seen war, etc. But I've recently divorced and things that have happened in the process have been traumatic for me. I know PTSD isn't just found in those who have been at war, in the military, etc, but that's my question. How would I know if I have it, and what meds are generally used to treat it?
Here are the symptoms of PTSD:
PTSD is a severe anxiety disorder as a result of traumatic event(s). Meds used to treat it depend on the symptoms manifested but you can read about the treatments at:
I think you are addressing your symptoms with the appropriate meds. Are you also getting therapy?
I was just diagnosed with PTSD from my childhood, as was my sister years ago. If you have suffered severe, persistent psychological torture, it can very well be the case. Seeking medical advice is necessary for a formal diagnosis, and more importantly for therapy and medication so you can cope healthily.
PTSD it's accompanied with episodes of paranoia, nightmares, feelings of being watched avoiding large crowds checking to make sure your house is secure lack of sleep lack of enjoyment of life accompanied by depression and anxieties .I am sorry for you I wouldn't wish this on anyone it changes the whole meaning of life I look at people and envy them when I see how happy they are I only wish I could just feel that again if it's only for one day that's what PTSD does to me
