I have recently been diagnosed with adult ADD, I am not sure how the medication is supposed to make me feel in order to determine if it is doing what it is supposed to do. I made this mistake of drinking 3 cups of coffee in the am and then taking my first dose. When I arrived at work, I felt displaced, ancy and anxious like I wasn't sure what I needed to be doing. Day two I only had 1 cup of coffee upon waking and waited to take the med. this day I feel light headed and shaky, How do I know it is working properly? I feel my starting dose is too high at 15mg. And will be discussing with my Dr. but wondering what other things I should avoid as far as food and drink.
Hello tinakeendra. Your dose isn't high. Some of the common side effects you might be feeling or going to be feeling, and these are the most common, there are several others but less common. Headaches, feeling tired, weakly, lact of appetite, diarrhea and lack of sleep. Its suggested that you as you're doing now, take it upon awakening in the morning. You can take it with or without food. The most noticeable feature (wrong word perhaps) is that you'll be gfeeling a lot more calm. As to diet, theres no real restriction to what you can or can't eat. Best of wishes to you, pledge
Avoid coffee. That's dangerous on top of adderall. When taking adderall, remember to eat. It will level you out and keep you in a good mood. Adderall allows you to focus on what you wish to focus on. So be sure to select carefully. Expect to get used to it with time, it will get better. And it may even start to feel less effective. Its not, just take a day off here and there. It will refresh its effectiveness. Just react to it like its a tool to help you strive to be better, smarter, and more able to learn and focus. Reacting correctly changes everything. I have been taking it for two years now, and my life has changed to the best it can be. School is fun now, I don't worry about failing a class, and I'm happy. I have college planed out and what's after that. It helped me very much. Expect your life to improve.
