Who invented Ritalin? Was the drug named after the inventor's wife? I need the answer for psychopharmacology class.
Hello kdestefani. It was discovered in 1944, by the chemist Leandro Painizzon. It was indeed named after his wife Marguerite, who went by the nickname Rita. He then named the new found drug Ritaline.
