im having a running nose, coughing, headacke, my chest is conjested nd my breathing (asthma) is acting some. should i call my dr?
Whether you have a chest cold or allergies, doesn't really matter. Are you having a hard time breathing? Is your cough phlegmy? Are you bringing up mucous or phlegm from your chest? What color? Is it thick and yucky, or is it thin? If you answered yes to these questions, whatever the cause, it has turned into a bacterial infection, and then the answer is yes, call your doctor, and let them make the decision. If the answer is no, and it is really just bothersome, then you either have a viral cold, or everyday allergies that are an inconvenience, but not really hurting you. Then you take allergy meds if you can. If the allergy meds don't work, then you probably have a cold. Either way, eat lots and lots of chicken soup :-) Feel Better, Ellen
Have a cup of tea with lemon and honey in it too. Honey helps to control coughs and soothes throats. I use it for cough syrup-and it works most of the time.
Just get some rest. Allergies do turn into infections, and you need to see your doctor if you have the sypmtoms listed or you don't get over it. Yellow mucus, especially from the nose shows in fection-if it's greenish or green, it shows that the infection is causing your sinuses to bleed from the infection. You need to get to a doctor and get some anti-biotics- usually a Z pak.
