i used antibiotic for long priod of time lastly
Please get your dr to rx some Diflucan tablets or fluconazole and tell him/her you are trying to conceive, you need to clear this up quickly, having a yeast infection while pregnant will be miserable for you.
Monistat is safe to use while trying to concieve. Good luck.
I find, hands down, the best thing to use is boric acid capsules for three days followed by an applicator full of plain yogurt to relenish the good bacterias. I buy boric acid powder at the drug store and I buy unfilled geletin capsules at the healthfood store. GNC carries them. I fill the capsules with the powder and insert one capsule each night for three nights. On the fourth night, I use an applicator from the monistat to insert an applicator full of plain yogurt with live cultures to replenish the good bacteria. Boric acid strips the tissues so it is improtant to follow this step. I have tried every cream available and even Diflucan and I find this treatment works best. If I have the monolial rash on my thighs I use either the Monistat cream or I use something like Lotrimen (the stuff used for jock itch) to the areas as directed. I'm not sure how safe this is if you are trying to conceive however.
If you have not conceived yet it should be fine but if there is any possiblity you have, you might want to ask your OB if it is okay to use. It is best to clear it up prior to conception. I have always had a lot of trouble with vaginal candidiasis and had them during my pregnancies and wasnt allowed to use anything intravaginally while pregnant. Both of my children suffered with Thrush when they were born. I had very large patches of monolial infection on both inner thighs all throughout my pregnancies. It is very miserable.
Hi hiba, I just wanted to let you know, that yesterday, the FDA announced that Diflucan should never be used for a yeast infection or whatever else if you are pregnant or in your case trying to get pregnant. It can cause birth defects if used in the first trimester of the pregnancy. I hope you have not used this yet. I would do as DzooBaby suggested. She is a nurse & does know how & what will work. It would be ok & does work great any other time. I hope you get this in time...
