My room mate was or supposedly was an addict to this drug... we both met at a time where we were starting a life that was supposed to be changing and so on for the good... now I am.honestly saying I have stuck to my promise... but I found a bottle of tramadol in her purse and the past couple days she has been wanting me to drive us to places... she is acting so.different and I'm concerned... need help... I am.new at living with.someone with this sever of an addiction.
Hi, it's no secret to the site that i had a tramadol addiction a couple of years ago. I was taking 1000mg a day and at the time i thought i was hiding it well and getting on great with my life. It isn't until i look back now that i realise i wasn't actually coping at all and i became not a nice person. I was short tempered, wanted everything my way and my head was such a mess. I think you need to take the caring approach and not lay it on too thick as your friend will probably take offence easily. How did you find the tablets... was it an accident or were you searching without her knowledge? Do some research about all of the side effects of tramadol addiction and leave the print out around the house or e-mail it to your friend as a point of interest. It is very difficult getting someone to stop. Tell her you understand that it is her choice bu that you are concerned about long term affects of this kind of abuse. I can vouch for the fact that it can make mental health very unstable and can cause you to act carelessly/dangerously. She might be afraid of stopping because of the possibility of all the withdrawal symptoms, but there is a way to stop gradually and avoid most of these. I can offer a tapering plan if you think you can get your friend to agree. Also, tapering slowly doesn't feel as scary as stopping suddenly as there will still be the 'fix' of having the tramadol in the system, and then over time it is easier to reduce further and further. Let me know if you decide to speak to her and how it goes and i can provide further info' if you like? Good luck
