... with a rapid and irregular heart beat. I had my wife rush me to the nearest hospital. I was in a total and complete panic. It was traumatic. I was in the hospital for a couple of days. I went back into normal sinus rhythm within 24 hours through chemical cardioversion with Flecainide. I am still an emotional wreck! I'm consumed and worried when the next attack could be. I have since woken up several times throughout the night with a rapid heartbeat without the irregular rhythm. I am emotionally breaking down. I am petrified of another attack. Can someone please help! I feel like I am going through a war!
First off a-fib is darn uncomfortable to thoses of us that can feel it, secondly afib by itself won't kill you. The stress while waiting around is something you have to learn to deal with. I use a drug called Tikosyn and for me it worked fairly well then I had a ablation to take care of it, I still take Tikosyn and haven't had afib in about 5 months, so get over the fear and start looking to correct it
