I've been on Prozac for 3 day's now, and it's causing pretty bad insomnia. The insomnia make's me panicky and nervous and I just want to be able to sleep decently. The first day wasn't bad, but the second day was horrible. I didn't end up falling asleep till around 7:30 AM and got about 3-4 hour's total between then and 2:30 PM. I'm used to falling asleep around 2 AM, but I'm also used to taking a Buspar before bed. But I've used the pill interaction's checker on here, and it say's there could be some serious interaction's between Buspar and Prozac so I haven't been taking it. I did take a Valium last night tho, but that didn't even help me. It's 10:54 PM right now and I'm worried I'm not going to be able to sleep again, I'm not even taking the full 20mg yet. I've been taking 10mg to start. Any advice?
Hi. Sorry you are having problems. What time are you taking the Prozac? That can have a lot to do with it. I used to take mine at 6pm. Couldn't sleep at all!! I switched to 12:30pm at lunchtime (I have to take w food or I feel weird) better off for sleep. I also have problems sleeping but now its not as bad. You can try Melatonen. (Sp) it is a natural sleep aid. I also drink sleepy time tea. It helps a little bit. Yoga for sleep helps also. A hot bath 1 hr before bed. I use Epsom salt to relax my muscles. I also have chronic back pain. I hope this helps. I'm on 20 mg Prozac.
