I am a 21 year old female, the past few weeks I have had trouble sleeping due to my hips hurting. It was my left at first and now it is both. It goes away during the day and comes back at night once I wake up. Is there any reason this could be happening? I am not over weight, I am about 116 pounds.
If you have not changed anything in a workout, regular extreme activities, or hurt yourself in some way. If you noticed your knees are touching if sleeping on side. From your weight, make sure to get a physical by your regular doctor and blood work the regulars if not having any other joint or muscle pain. As I said about your knees, I am older and you should not notice a lot of pain yet unless there is arthritis or some other disorder in your family. Try to get that schedule with the doc. In the meantime use a big firm throw pillow or the like between your upper legs adjust as needed to keep your hips straight and lined up just like in the daytime. You can order a pillow from amazon for little to use specific for this. Be careful about starting any long term medicine or injections.
Make your doctor set you up for physical therapy if any damage to joints first and some mild pain med or otc med. If need get a mild prescription nsaid. Do not do anything major until you exhaust all options. To many doctors like to send you to a specialist or surgeons who like to do big things for big money. Good luck.
