My son took too many Lorazepam due to a highly stressful situation spurred on by his PO... and he tested positive for amphetamines (he won't touch the stuff at all ever) and is now sitting in jail. The PO knows he is on Atenolol for his high blood pressure meds, Buspirone and Lorazepam for his high anxiety.
Hello binski62. Sadly yes it can. There are several drugs from different drug families that have been known to test positive for amphetamine. One from the SSRI family is Zoloft. Another, again from the SSRI family is Prozac. Both documented at various times to prove positive to amphetamine. The why? is unknown, but it is a reality, it happens and will likely to occur again and again. Regards, pledge
All of the above are correct. Lorazapam or any other Benzo would not show up as an Amphetamine. Uppers and downers.
I would say your son would have had some other substance in his system. This could be something as simple as cold and flu tablets. Be extremely careful with Lorazapam as it deals directly with the immediate memory and is usually prescribed for extreme shock/PTS/Trauma.
