I mean I know diet and smoking or alcholo, but I weigh 120 pounds age 33 and quite drinking and smoking over 3 years ago, but bloodpressure has gone up to 180/105. Isn't that young and also very high for my weight? Would this mean I have some kind of vascular disease or blocked artery? how would I get this tested and is it reversible? I'm on to meds highest dose amplodine and atenol 100 mg and 10 mg

According mi cardiologist at least 3 main factor contributes...
ovesity... high sodium intake and parents history. In my case I am marathon runner not smoker and eventhoug I been medicated and my b/p is exelent. many other causes are uknown. Your doc. should tell you the cause according to your cardiovascular examination. Good luck.
Sometimes there is no reason for it other than familial history. My 17 y/o son has high blood pressure. He doesnt have an ounce of fat on him, his heart and kidneys are fine-he is a healthy active young man. We just have high blood pressure in our family. His cardiologist has sent him through a battery of tests and he is absolutely healthy other than he has high blood pressure. The cardiologist told me that sometimes there is no apparent reason why someone has high blood pressure.
