Is there anyway I could take linisiprol instead that was prescribed to me but I never even try
Below find the 2 different categories and ways that Norvasc and lisinopril work:
Norvasc (amlodipine) belongs to a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. Norvasc relaxes (widens) blood vessels and improves blood flow. Norvasc is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or chest pain (angina) and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease
Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors. ACE stands for angiotensin converting enzyme. Lisinopril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), congestive heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack.
I can't tell you to take lisinopril because I have no idea what a good dosage is, what the equivalent to your Norvasc dosage would be, if you're on other medications and if you can safely take an ACE inhibitor. You must make your own decision. Why not call your Dr. to be sure? Or your pharmacist?
