I have dr appt in 2 weeks to get back on meds. Can i wait that long or is this an emergency?
I consider this a reason to go to an ER, yes. I'm not an expert on high blood pressure, although I also have it without meds. I always heard that if the top number goes above 200 or if the bottom number goes over 100, then go to an ER. You have both numbers high. I say play safe and go.
I had BPs this high and my doctor was the one who almost had a stroke. This is definately an emergency does the doctor know how high it actually is? If he/she does they need their head examined for making you wait that long. I suggest going to the local emergency roon immediately and have them call or fax your doctor and get you started NOW not in two weeks before it causes nasty damage to your vessels. Let me know how it goes. marjorie zych
