I know what to do for a low reading but not sure what to do for a high one. I got up this morning and it was 148 where normally I am not higher than 120. I take Metformin 500 at dinner. I have not had anything to eat for 12 hours.
Drink some water, it will help. Get a little exercise. Try to watch the carbs you eat, stick to mostly protein. Are you getting sick? Sometimes illness or an infection will push your sugar up. Keep track of your blood sugar, and let your dr know asap. If it gets higher, that you're feeling it, go to the ER.
Do as kaismama suggests but also add a light low carb snack before bed to see if this helps, sometimes your body needs a little energy to work on, also the kind of food is important, that's where a food log comes in handy. You can look at what you are and when you are to determine if you are getting sick or your hormones are kicking in
