... VivaGlobin - I'm having trouble getting motivated to start it. What made it worth it to you to start it?
I used Vivaglobin for 3+ years. Before that, I got Gamunex, the intravenous IgG for a depressed immune system. Lots of side effects from Gamunex, but few (and mild) from Vivaglobin. I started getting the IgG infusions because of frequent and severe infections. Also, with a poor immune system, my cancer would have fertile ground to grow again. I've been in remission since 2005. Just important info for you, the manufacturer is phasing out Vivaglobin the end of 2011 and replacing it with Hizentra. You need to mention this to your doctor, because you won't be able to get Vivaglobin for much longer. Instead of your doctor starting you on Vivaglobin, you might want to just start out with Hizentra. The infusions of IgG have kept me fairly infection free. Just minor infections. You need to research your condition and treatments. The weekly infusions of Hizentra are nothing compared to the frequency of serious infections without it. Hope this helps.
