... world of difference in my life. However I'm concerned because an older sister recently developed glaucoma. I don't know much about adhd medications in general. Is there one that is safe for someone with a family history of glaucoma or is ritalin safe?
If YOU have glaucoma, it is not recommended to take Ritalin. But a family history of glaucoma doesn't mean you will get glaucoma. I'd get regular check-ups with an ophthalmologist (eye doc) as a precaution. However, as long as Ritalin is helping you, there's not reason to stop taking it unless you do actually develop glaucoma.
