... like it is not working. I was wondering what other medications are out there that will help me. I have anger/stress/depression. My anger problems are a big issue and i really do need help!!
Hello "e: THE ROCK": There are many medications now available. For your anger you might ask your dr. to prescribe a benzodiazepine such as lorazepam (Ativan), or Alprazolam(Xanax), which go into your system very quickly, they are known as short acting. You can stay with the benzos, but take perhaps one that does not work as quickly but do stay in your body longer, they are known as long actors. Libruim, and Valium are two of these. I would ask your prescribing dr. and tell him about your anger, that way he or she will certainly beable to offer you some help in that area.best wishes to you.
Might I ask how long have you been on the Celexa? It takes upwards of a month for this medicine to reach maximum effectiveness. If it has been this long or longer, I would talk to the doctor about your symptoms. There are numerous meds to address the anger depending on its source. As pledge mentioned, benzodiazepines are one possibility, another is a medication like Depakote or another is Seroquel. Again, it really depends on how your anger manifests and your doctor is the best to assess.
