Hi I 49 years old male and have a 27mm stone in my left kidney. I did ESWL once but nothing happened. Is it ok to just leave the stone there. would it cause me any problem in the future. Thankyou
Its hard to predict what may happen.
Stones more than 8 mm. in width are only about 20% likely to pass unnoticed over one year. Unfortunately, stones may produce significant pain and symptoms during passage and additional treatment may be required, so earlier treatment is suggested for larger stone.
