Hi everyone, Had my thyroidectomy for cancer done and now was wondering if anyone has done a low iodine diet (Lid) then Radioactive Iodine treatment (Rai) for cancer.
What can I eat? I know it has to have no iodine in it, but a lot of food don't mention iodine. It may just say spices. I have an idea on the regular foods on thyroid.ca but it sure doesn't seem like a lot. If anyone has gone through this I would be thankful for your opinion.
Thanks for any answers in advance.

Hi Lynne, I would think anything (which is everything) that has a high sodium content would be bad as that is salt. I assume that they use iodized salt in products. Soups especially are high. Watch & read your labels for sodium would be your first step, & I'll bet WebMD has a subject matter on this. My hubby has HBP so he has to watch salt. Good luck... Mary
Hi there Lynne. I'll post something but it will be bit later on, you know me, I'll research and pick someones elses brain. Fresh cuppa and a bagel this morning, you take care in the great white north, pledge
