Hey my name is chris and I live in the united states Im 20 years old and have been prescribed percocet since i was 17. now because of my age people thionk im just a junkie trying to get high but its not true. percocets are the only thing that help my pain. i have a sever herniated disc and i have lumbar spinal stenosis. i have been on the same dose for almost 2 years now and my doctor refuses to up it. after taking the same dose of any painkiller you build a tolerance and need more of it to help your pain. and when i turn 21 i lose my health insurance and plan on moving to canada cuz everyone gets medical. so what im wondering is if i come up there and have my MRI's and xrays, will it be hard for me to get put on percocet because of my age? Please let me know
I know how you feel! I have chronic pain from ovarian cyst(s) and a duodenal ulcer and I prefer to take Percocet over Vicodin because it works faster and BETTER... but it is also hard to get here in U.S. and you cannot get a refill or a new perscription close together. The only way to get it for me is to go to the Emergency Room..and that get's costly, as I do NOT have insurance at this time. In Canada, you should be able to get it, the health care and meds are less restricted THERE because there are LESS people who abuse these drugs. I wish you luck and HOPE you get some kind of relief soon! Take care, hope this answer helped you
You're both of your rockers!!
1. It is NOT easier to get these pills in Canada! I have American friends who have been doing Vicodin (which we don't even have in Canada) another pain pill (starts with a Z?) for years. Most people in Canada who get percs or Oxys only get a small/short prescription. I know chronic cancer patients who no longer get their percs.
2. What in your sane mind makes you think that you can just move to Canada, become a citizen, and take our Heath care? Are you planning on getting married? Because if you're not getting married then you're out of luck!
If our system worked like that do you not think half the world would coming in hordes?
Matter a fact, it's probably easier for someone to move here from Iran than the US.
I tried to help a friend move here years ago but it was too hard... impossible.
I've heard of people charging a lot of money to marry ppl for residency but it costs a lot of money; minimalm, 25, 000 (or more).
Good luck lol
Ps. Did you plan on getting a doctor when you move to Canada? If you say yes then I will be forced to throw myself to the floor and die laughing! That'd suck! Because I don't have a doctor so I will definitely die laughing. Lol
What makes you think you can just move to Canada & get on the health care system anyway? Not so easy Mr. Think twice. Maybe instead start exploring operation or such to help you feel better become pain free & free of drugs. I know someone who is suffering from GREAT pain 24/7 from a very badly torn rotator cuff & is unable to get percocet or vicoden as yet. Has been in pain for last 6 months & says he wants to chop off his arm bec. of pain. Think it over buddy! Not so easy to come to beautiful Canada.
