When it's time for bed I panic thinking I can't swallow them I'm dizzy then I cough a lot and get hot and it takes me forever to calm down.
Panic is frightening when it happens.
For some reason you may unconsciously be having a panic attack. From what you described, those can be symptoms of acute anxiety/panic.
If you cannot figure out why you are having them, then maybe a therapist can help you. Try not to let this become a pattern, as this may then turn into a habit.
I hope you are able to go to bed panic free soon.
I mean this in a nice way, not to be prying. Is it possible that a loved one of yours, in the past, died in their sleep? Are you afraid deep down, in the back of your mind, for whatever reason, that you might die in your sleep, so it makes you afraid when bedtime comes around? Could this be a subconscious fear of yours, that maybe you haven't been consciously aware of? Are you possibly afraid of the dark? Just a thought...
