48. I sleep most of the day. have a doctors appt. soon for the first time since i been diagnosed. i have all the symptons of fibromyalga and very scared for my health. i hope this doctor can help me. everyday is bad and i don't know what to do. i havent been to doctor sooner because i feel so bad all the time. do you think i will be able to get the help i need?
It sounds like you are badly needing a good thorough medical exam and perhaps some testing, bloodwork etc. It is very likely that a Dr can help you feel better. There are treatments available for fibromyalgia and for Hepatitis C. Were you diagnosed with Hep C or are you just speculating? If you were diagnosed, you should be under a Drs care. When you feel bad, it is your body's way of telling you something is wrong and ignoring this never makes it better. You cannot keep going on like this.
Hi dtucker7... I have hepc too! I'm not exactly sure when I got it, but I think that it was about 15-18 years ago. I have been under my doctor's care for it for the last 5 years. I think I got it through my past drug use but I could have gotten it from my ex-husband, but I'm pretty sure it was from drug use, but it doesn't matter how I got it... I have it and it is up to you as to how you decide to treat it. There are treatments for HepC, but I am not going to lie to you, the drugs for that treatment can have some really nasty side effects and I myself have chosen NOT to go through with the treatment. but I may change my mind in the future.
You need to see your doctor, if you haven't had a formal test to determine that you are really HepC positive, then you need to do so, and if you really do have it, you need to get the test done to determine what type that you have and you need to get a liver biopsy to tell you how much damage has been done to your liver so far. I am lucky , I have very little damage to my liver and I am doing well. Everyone is different. But PLEASE go to your doctor and get a complete workup to see what is going on with you exactly then take it from there and decide what is best for you!
I wish you luck and I hope you feel better!
Please keep us posted on how you're doing if you wish.
Hi dtucker7 -- If your you feel that something is wrong, listen to your body.. Find a hepatologist and confirm if it's your liver.
I've had hep c for over 40 years and have completed treatment twice (I just recently completed a new treatment with 3 meds).. I'm not suggesting you choose treatment -- understanding it's a personal choice but just letting you know if needed it can be done. It's wasn't easy but sometimes you do what you have to do..
I hope you find a resolution to your health problems. Check websites regarding hep c and educate yourself so it's not so scary!
Hi, i'm glad you are seeking help now. A lot of people are very scared of the diagnosis, but there has been a lot of research in to this which has lead to various treatments that can help with symptoms and cures. & an amazing fact is that it is possible for someones body to heal itself, approximately 20% of people diagnosed are cured this way (of course many people that have Hepatitis C are unaware of it for many years, if at all). Research also shows that there are 6 different genotypes, fueling more need for research & greater results. It sounds as though you are suffering from depression, induced by your physical symptoms. This can also be treated if needs be. Really, you are taking your first step when you see your doctor, everything else will follow... Will you let us know how you get on?
Dear dtucker7, Yes, please see a Dr. right away. Finding out you have hep c,
is the first step. Sleeping all day, extreme fatigue is very common. I have it
but have chosen not to take The Treatment. I also get very tired. But, just
knowing I have it has changed my lifestyle. I finally quit drinking beer, and
take better care of myself. Water, water and more water. Where is your
pain coming from? Caring about you,~~dumpster diver~~
