can anyone lead me to a primary dr. who will help me with back pain without having to send me to a pain clinic, which i cant afford. lexington ky
It really depends what is causing the back pain. If it is something that needs further attention the only one who can help is a pain doctor who then refers to a spine surgeon most of the time. I am in Oregon and here we have a place called Volunteers In Medicine and it is run by volunteer Docs, it's for uninsured patients and also insured patients. They help make an action plan and even if it means getting some nerve therapy, or injections. It is great, I hear that they are avail all over the world, just dont know that the name is the same. Call the County Health Dept and they will know where to go. I hope you feel better and get that back taken care of. Best wishes :)
Alright here is what you do tell them that you cant afford to see pain management. Reason why they want to do injections that cost money they want to do physical therapy that cost money. I went to see a regular physician and she is just about the sweetest person i have ever met. I told her i cant afford any of the things they want to do for me so she charges me for a simple exam and i leave the office with scripts and samples and get charged less than 100.00 to do it i think im in heaven.
