take a drug test to get into a new docs office cuz the one he had is movin out of state and the meds he had were only enough to last til thur night (fri mornin would have been his appt if the doc wasnt movin) and the new doc cant see him til monday so that leaves him 3 days without his reg meds (oxycodone 30mg/4x a day). so by fri afternoon he was pretty sick and a friend of a friend gave him a half of a 8mg suboxone to help with the withdrawls, will it b out of his system by monday?? plz help if u can, he really really needs his meds and im hoping he hasnt messed it up wit the new doc because of it.

Dear CW86, suboxone is a long acting opiate replacement and it tests positive only as bupenorphine, but will test positive for that for several days to several weeks after the last dose, depending on how much is built up in his system and how fast his metabolism is. It is possible the new dr will not check for it. Please tell your husband not to take anymore just in case and I know you are worried, but it is not designed to leave the system fast, it is long acting. I know he is in a difficult spot but he would have been in a better position if he had been able to somehow acquire whatever pain meds he was already on. Not exactly legal, but sometimes people have to make difficult choices to get out of difficult places. I will be praying the new dr will boot check for the bupenorphine and he may not, there is no way to tell until he takes the test. If you can get him some of whatever pain medicine he was already on, that will be best. Perhaps another dr or dentist you use will help him by writing an emergency rx for it. Best of luck, patti
