i have a ruptured disc and i have a pinched siatica and extensive nerve damage due to my guillian barre syndrome so i take a laundry list of medications vicodin neurontin meloxicam ibuprofen and it does ease the pain some but how do i tell my doc some days it still hurts so bad i dont wanna move no matter how doped up i am and not sound like a pill addict i mean im only 22 and i can hardly move some days help what do i do
Tell your doc you prefer to take the vicodin for breakthrough pain and that you need something stronger like diaudid or morphine it's okay to make suggestions just tell him that you need a round the clock medication and when the pain try's to break through you will take the vicodin. If he is a good doc at all he will agree but he might not be in the position to give you the morphine or dilaudid he might suggest pain management which would be a better place for you since you will be suffering from pain for the rest of your life hopefully not but that is usually the case. Hope this helped you.
