I am addicted to co/codamol and take about 10 pills a day which contain 30mg of codeine in each pill. I am sick and tired of these stupid pills being in my life and want to stop completely. i dont think tapering would work for me as I would probably sneak the dose back up..
has anyone just completely stopped? How long did the effects last?
any advice? any personal experiences?

hi everyone!!! just wanted to share that after taking advice from this site, particularly the 'Thomas detox recipe', I am now in my second week of being 'pill free'..My tips: the withdrawal is like the flu and I found that OTC flu remedies help with symptoms..I used 'Daynurse' for the day, and 'nightnurse' at night as i found the insomnia hard to deal with and nightnurse helps with that... You CAN do it...just expect a week of flu like symptoms..don't go out, sit in front of the TV, drink lots of fluis and go to bed early!!!
Look up the Thomas Recipe on this site and call around to the health food stores to see if they have it already in a kit. This will help you with withdrawals. You probably won't feel like it at first, but, light exercise will help when you start feeling like moving around a speeding things up. Good Luck.
