I visited a doctor last month because I suffer difficulty in breathing. The doctor said my heartbeat is right, my lungs is clear, don't have to undergo an ECG. She just said that my muscle around my heart are swollen that's why I have difficulty in breathing sometimes. She prescribed a peroxicam feldene (put it under my tounge) and to take it every time I feel the pain as much as possible twice... is it safe?
Yes, it's fine to take piroxicam for pain and inflammation. What dose has she prescribed?
The oral dose for piroxicam capsules (I'm not really sure about sublingual tablets - it might be the same) is:
o Adults—20 milligrams (mg) once a day or 10 mg twice a day. Take it immediately after meals and with a large glass of water.
