I've been taking 20mg for almost four weeks, and just finished weaning from lexapro as well. It's been extremely hard. Lots of crying and more panic and aniexty than before. I need to know if this will get better. I do have good days, then it feels like I'm starting all over again.
I'm seeing my doc on Monday and wondering if upping the dose will be a good idea?
You are right on the cusp of knowing if this medication is right for you. An adjustment in dosage is a possibility. Let the doctor know how you are doing and give it a few more weeks.
Hi, Iamtrying, nice to meet you! Please, please hang in there. Trying to live with panic disorder without seeking treatment is scary and miserable, so stay with your meds and give them time to work! Maybe you could ask your doctor if you could take something short acting for a couple weeks along with your Prozac till you start to feel better. Most doctors are ok with that. "G"
Hello! So I went to see my doctor today and he decided to up my dose to 40mg/day. This is after only one month of being on 20mg. He said with this stuff it's kind of a trial and error type thing. He also said his knowledge only goes so far with this kind of stuff and if this doesn't start working I should go see a psychiatrist.
Have any of you been through this? Will the increase in dose help me? I want it to so badly..
Just wanted to check in. I've been on the 40mg of Prozac now for three weeks and a month of 20mg before that. Still along with Ativan. I'm still having bad side effects... gagging, getting sick, not as many panic attacks, but just feelIng crappy all the time. Is this still normal? Am I still getting used to this stuff? Or?? I've even lost over 15lbs since I started taking it..
