... taking Microgestin fe 1/20. I have been having unprotected sex, but he never ejaculated inside of me during these weeks after the abortion. I am now on the reminder pills (brown pills) on the 5th day & I still haven't had my period yet. I had some real light spottting on one day then disappeared. I was wondering if I could be pregnant? I've taken the pills every single day around the same time except on one occasion where I took it an hour late
The pills should be protecting you. You're taking them correctly. As long as you didn't have unprotected sex the first week you were on them, you shouldn't be pregnant.
Women of child bearing age bleed because there is a build up of uterine lining in preparation for a fertilized egg and when there is no egg fertilized, the lining is not needed and so it sheds and we call this shedding our "period" Since you just had a surgical abortion, all the contents of conception along with the lining were surgically removed so it is possible that there is just not anything to shed at this point. Keep taking your pills, start the new pack when it is time. If you do not bleed next month then you need to see your gynecologist or Womens Health care provider. I know this seems troubling since you just had an abortion but it may just be there is no tissue built up yet to bleed.
