You probably need to be treated with an antidepressant along with your talk therapy. Don't worry about being in a hospital, sometimes it helps, but you will have to have a doctor prescribe. If you choose to not talk about your childhood past that is no reason for the psychiatrist to not prescribe appropriate medication.
I so agree with Laurie that you need anti-depressant medication. If you've already tried a bunch of them, make sure to see a good psychiatrist who deals with combinations of meds. Also ask instead for a therapist who deals with pain. There are techniques for dealing with pain that do not involve delving into your childhood. If it's not helping you to talk about your childhood, tell the therapist to deal with your pain instead. Depression and pain are the worst to deal with. You take care.
