... never goes away. My question is related to Melasma appearing pink at times. I have two close family members with Lupus and I personally have tons of symptoms. I am wondering if anyone with Melasma ever notices it is pink instead of brown. The pink rash like areas are in the same spot as a butterfly rash would be but it is also the same area of my Melasma. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Are you wondering if you have Lupus? Why not go to the Rheumatologist and ask s/he to rule it out? You just might get your answer. I have SLE but no rash, so I can't help you there. I googled lupus + melasma and saw several interesting discussions. It seems melasma occurs in the same areas that a lupus rash does for other people than yourself. It's usually more brown but can be pink. There are lots of pictures if you select "images" after the original search. I say take it to the Rheumy and let the tests be run.
