Hello. I would like to know what possibly could happen if a IV is inserted into the bone of a hand?

That's pretty much impossible. the iv catheters are very flexible. I can't imagine pushing it into a bone, it would bend. Also the person doing the iv would know if she hit a bone or not. Our sense of touch knows exactly what you should be feeling with the catheter.
