... now then before my surgery. My foot is swollen, discolored And in more pain then before. Did I go through the surgery & everything for nothing? I can't drive or walk for long now. It's Been over 4 months.
It would be wise for you to get another surgeon's opinion. Waiting until October would be detrimental to your healing process if something has gone awry in your foot. I would also ask your PCP for a copy of the surgical report that he referred to when saying that the surgery didn't work. I had a tendon transfer and fusion on the 1st joint of my big toe for a congenital hammertoe. The surgeon did not take care to get all of the cartlidge out of the joint, so the joint never fused. I was 100% disabled for more than a year and it took 4 surgeries to repair the damage from the first surgery because I waited more than a year to find out why it was still so painful. But, I was very young and didn't realize I was causing more damage by not seeing another surgeon. Of course, the original surgeon denied that he botched the surgery --- good ole CYA! That's why I say to get a 2nd opinion. These surgeries do take a long time to heal, but you should not have more pain now than before the ligament was repaired. Not after 4 months!
Best wishes to you!
