I've been on cymbalta for about 11 years. Without it, I don't get out of bed. My doctor likes me to take it at night which works well for me. I don't seem to have any problems from it other than constipation (go colace).
I hope my positive experience helps to allay some of your fears and that it works well for you.
Hi LizStone73. In my opinion and experience the best time to take this drug is never! I’ve been taking 60 mg of Cymbalta for 8-9 years and making the decision to start taking it was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. I started taking it for neuropathic pain and it seemed to help a bit at first; but it was no time and I started getting worse. I thought my Trigeminal Neuralgia was getting worse; but I realized that it was the Cymbalta. I read about other people’s experiences with Cymbalta and it was happening to them too. Yeah yeah I know that some people say that it’s only 10% of us who have all these problems; but I know thousands who have gone through or are going through the same thing. The side effects are horrible and well; if you decide you don’t want to keep taking it you better be prepared for the nightmare from the withdrawals which can take a long time time. I wasn’t depressed when I started taking Cymbalta; but I sure am now.
I’ve been slowly tapering off since June of last year (2017) and I’m down from 60 mg to 20 mg now. Please research this drug! I hope you are doing ok if you decided to take it. Please take care and best wishes to you
