... seasoned addicts, much like myself. I have lost too much to re-count in this limited forum but suffice it to say, that were it not for startin the suboxone program i would definitely be in jail, institution, or dead. And i have tried the first two of the above... that third option was all that was left for me until i started this program with the support of my family. Anyway just wanted to say hello and hope to chat with some of you soon
yay, welcome, a new member of the site and in the elite group of the subs. Thank you for not saying how awful subs(suboxone) are and mentioning how it has been a help to you. So many are not taking it correctly, isolate themselves and don't have much positive to say about it and it actually scares those who are new to the program. This is not a live chat, but it does serve a huge portion of people who never join, they just monitor posts. Those awful ones really scare people, so thank you, I hope Thor, LaurieShay, Used2be and ski80 will see your post and welcome you soon. We also have others who are new, like Dimitrievv, maybe he will see it too. Thanks, pattishan61
I also want to welcome you, You have been through a lot and it's due to addiction but you know there is a positive thing that can come from this, there are those of us who have Chronic pain or other various problems but you know how to relate and utilize what I call a "talent based upon your experience", there are others out there that need guidance and your input so this allows you to turn something bad into good because you have the knowledge from you experience and where someone else can't because they just don't know you can use your experiences in advising others, I welcome you!
How ya doing jkg1969, welcome to the group. I'm one of the people here who's on Sub maintenance for chronic pain. Sub can be quite a wonderful drug for any number of reasons, and I actually take it for all those reasons.
Next time you post maybe you can tell us a few things. Such as how long you're on Sub, what your daily dose is, and are you trying to do a taper with it, or you using it as maintenance? Due to some nerve pain I have, I'll be on narcotic pain killers for life. I tried staying without them this past winter. I took plenty of Tylenol and Naproxen. I found the same thing I did last time I had tried that. The Tylenol and Naproxen just don't touch the pain from the damaged nerves. Only the opiate family of drugs dull it.
Be well, Thor.
WELCOME!! Glad you have joined the group. This is a wonderful group of folks and we try to be suppportive of one another. Addiction does lead one down a road of limited choices. It is wonderful to hear from folks who have picked the choice of treatment and having the support of friends and family is such a critical part of that treament. Welcome again jkg and stay in touch.
