... cocaine my doctor will not prescribe me anything for pain. Tuesday evening I took three 5mg Percocet for Pain and have to take a drug test for employment friday afternoon or possibly saturday. Will i be ok?
I don't think you will pass that test I'm sorry to say!! I feel so badly for you.
Someone that knows more about drug tests will help with that part of your question, I'm quite sure.
Now onto your other problem, you've Fibro and Lupus and you cannot get any doc to help with the pain because of a previous addiction?
How many years ago was your addiction to cocaine? (if you don't mind me asking)
There MUST be a Pain Management Specialist that is willing to work with you on this!! Don't tell them that you had a coke addiction years ago!!
Why must this haunt you the rest of your days? Is it in your file permanently?
I suppose I don't understand this. I cannot even believe your doc would be so incredibly insensitive as to deny you meds because of an addiction problem, that by the way, you had YEARS AGO!!!
I so empathize with you. I had (have) an alcohol addiction, yet my doc knows that I would never abuse my meds!! He is very compassionate and would never deny me pain meds because of alcoholism.
I wish the best for you and hope you find a good doctor!!!
I was once addicted to cocaine and I was honest to my family doctor and she stopped prescribing pain meds to me. I have major back problems. So I had her refer me to a pain clinic and kept my mouth shut about it and problem gone. If you are done with cocaine then your done talking about it too. Unless it is a made of life or death then say something if not just leave it alone. Keep it to yourself. By the way, Way to go getting off that devil drug.
You might pass then again you might not. It depends on how fast your metabolism is. It is usually safe to say it takes 3-7 days to be undetectable in urine. That is also if they test for oxycodone. My last employment drug screen only tested for morphine derived opiates and since I take oxycontin (which is derived from thebaine) and they did not test for thebaine derived drugs I came up clean. You are right on the line there at about 3 days. If they do test for thebaine derived drugs you may not pass so hopefully for your sake they dont test for them.
