... truly understand where I'm coming from. I've been crippled with excruciating pain since 1991after 4 fusions and was at death's door six years ago. Actiq was prescribed and it truly saved my life. As you all know, it is terribly expensive and my insurance refuses to pay for it now. I've been on all other meds and morphine pumps with terrible results. I can't imagine going back to 80 pounds with pain so intense, I will surely end my existence because it is too much to bare. As you all know where I'm cooking from, I trust in your comments. Prayers and blessings to you all
Many pharmaceutical companies have patient assistance programs. Unfortunately I checked Actiq and it has none, but the active ingredient in Actiq is fentanyl and it does have a patient assistance program. You would have to get your doctor to prescribe fentanyl patch (Duragesic) and try for the patient assistance program, might be worth the effort. To find the patient assisatnt program for fentanyl go to: http://rxassist.org/
Click on the patient side and enter fentanyl. It will give you the links to the applications for patient assistance to obtain this medication for free if you qualify.
I have two boxes of the Actiq lollipops in my cupboard. Wish I could send them to you, but unfortunately that would be impossible.
