has a new idea. I do not have dry mouth but have a problem with the roof of my mouth. It started about the same time as TD, went off of Ability and the TD went away. The roof of my mouth feels like I have loose pieces of skin on it and it is driving me nuts. Have seen dentists, doctor, 3 different ENTs and everyone tells me there is nothing wrong. Glad to hear that but I am left without answers. Tried the stuff for dry mouth, doesn't help. Any ideas about treatment or doctors would be appreciated. It causes anxiety.
Hello Kitty sorry to hear about your mouth, it must B most annoying 4 U.Unfortunately I have no solutions. I went tough past questions but they all address a dry mouth which is not an issue 4 U. Have U tried talking 2 a Pharmacist? or going 2 C another ENT Dr 4 a diagnosis? - Take care and merry christmas
I once had an issue with the roof of my mouth. My issue was dehydration and it caused the bones/structures of the roof of the mouth to do something. Although that sounds not like what you are experiencing. Dry mouth is my most dreaded side effect. It makes me drink too much water then spend all my time in the bathroom! Sorry and I hope you feel better.
I have had occasions where the roof of my mouth felt raw and sore and I believe it was irritation from foods and drinks. Like I was into putting lemons and limes in my drinks and it started to eat away at the inside of my mouth. Is it possible you are eating or drinking anything with acid like tomatoes or lemons? Or could it be a acid redux heartburn thing where you burp up that acid and it irritates it? I usually gargle with saltwater if my mouth or gums are sore. Probably not what you were looking for but that is my only guess. I think I know what you are talking about though. Sometimes I would take my finger and be able to scrape off this film. Gross and super annoying.
Hi there. It is obvious thAt you are having an allergic relation. My daughter had the same symptoms. I would try eliminating one med at a time rather than adding anything. It's usually caused by something you ate . I know that any citrus fruits can cause a flare up with some drugs. It's an icky reaction. If you start getting a rash it's time to see your dr .
The dry mouth thing is really annoying. Try getting a soft bristle toothbrush, and gently brush not only your teeth, but also your gums tongue AND the roof of your mouth. This should stimulate blood flow in your mouth and remove any "gunk" built up on the roof of your mouth. This will be difficult when you are out and about, but try it as often as you can. May God bless you and bring you comfort. Merry celebration of our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ!
Merry Christmas Kitty. I have one more thing to add ... Have you ever heard of a neti-pot ? U can pick one up at wallgreens or kaiser ( even if your not a member )
A neti-pot cleanses you ears nose and throat with a saline solution. My daughter uses when she has a flare-up.
Somehow this has been a great remedy for anything that causes mouth problems as well. Give it a try ... I hope that it will help... Neti - pots are about 12.00 and come with individualized pre measured saline packets . Good luck !
You might try coconut oil, which comes in a jar in a 'solid' white form. It melts almost immediately upon contact with your skin and is a natural moisturizer. When my mother-in-law was put on oxygen, the inside of her mouth and nose got terribly dry. My nephew took some coconut oil and spread it on her lips, inside her mouth and around her nose, and it really did help. He also gave me some coconut oil mixed with oatmeal to use on my dry skin, which works really well.
Hope this helps!
