I am 35, have had Bms roof of mouth for 1 yr now. Finally found an oral specialist who gave me a clonazapam rinse. I feel after 6mos it's not working well. I have daily pain. Trying swallowing 0.5mg tablets now..1 week in no improvement yet :(
AlissaM, Yes I had terrible Panic attacks for years, But I started taking. 1mg 3 times daily. I now have to take 2mg three times daily. They really helped me out, You have to be careful, I ran out last year and had a grand mal seizure. You may want to ask your doctor, If you can also be put on Celexa or Remeron. I TAKE all three and they are a real life saver. Good luck, Cookie.
For what it's worth, the following may help you. Both sources talk about relieving stress, which is what clonazepam is for.
This from Mayo Clinic:
•Drink more fluids, to help ease the feeling of dry mouth, but avoid carbonated beverages.
•Don't use tobacco products.
•Avoid alcohol and products with alcohol, as they may irritate the lining of your mouth.
•Avoid products with cinnamon or mint.
•Avoid spicy-hot foods.
•Avoid acidic foods and liquids, such as tomatoes, orange juice, soft drinks and coffee.
•Try different mild or flavor-free brands of toothpaste, such as one for sensitive teeth or one without mint or cinnamon.
•Take steps to reduce excessive stress.
And this from the Federal Government-NIH:
adjusting or replacing irritating dentures
treating existing disorders such as diabetes, Sjögren’s syndrome, or a thyroid problem to improve burning mouth symptoms
recommending supplements for nutritional deficiencies
switching medicine, where possible, if a drug you are taking is causing your burning mouth
prescribing medications to
relieve dry mouth
treat oral candidiasis
help control pain from nerve damage
relieve anxiety and depression.
Yes, it and the entire class of drugs give me incredibly bad hickups, and esophogeal spasms that last for hours after each dose. There is something about that drug that does not agree with my digestive system.
Unfortunately it works better than any other drug to stop the severe spasms I have in my cervical spine from time to time. When it is given IV I don't have a problem with them, but clonazapam taken orally brings on hickups that last for hours.
