I just got back from seeing my psychiatrist's office and I have an addiction to stimulant but I have major depression and they want to give me something for wakefulness so they started me on Strattera and that quickly fizzled out even on the max dose so she started me on Nuvigil 150 mg with Strattera 120mg... does anyone take this combo? Also, I know nothing about Nuvigil how well does this work for wakefulness? or in general how does it work?
Hello All, I have questions about Strattera and Nuvigil?

Caution!!! Nuvigil is very similar to Provigil and if I remember correctly you had a problem with this in the past. Does the doctor know of your history? I take Nuvigil with good results but can say that it can be abused. Please take only as prescribed.
Nuvigil is working well for me - I am awake during my days and sleeping deeply at night. I use a CPap machine and Nuvigil is really good for us who have sleep apnea. It was hard to get used to - I am taking (roughly) 3/4 of a 150 mg tablet at 6 am and it kicks in about noon, and I am still wide awake at 11 pm. I tried several times taking the whole 150 mg tablet but got a feeling like my body was going to explode (different from anxiety) about 11 hours after I took it, hence taking 3/4 of the 150 mg tablet. It has raised my blood pressure about 10 points BUT is helping me sleep so much better - so that's just going to have to be ok. I don't know about taking it with Straterra and how it would impact addiction - can't help you there. Can you try Nuvigil by itself? Sure would be nice to take the less medication. Best wishes to you -
