Hello, I'm a 24 year male I weigh 167 lbs. And have an amox / sulfa allergy. I recently lost my health insurance and have come down with a pretty bad upper respiratory infection. It started in my sinus and has recently settled in my lungs. I've been having severe discomfort as well and coughing and nasal drainage. Long story short I can't afford to go to the doctor let alone get a script. My aunt has my uncles recent script for ciprofloxin hcl 500. I was wondering if this was appropriate for this sort of thing and if so would it affect my sulfa allergy and if not what would the proper dose be. thank you very much in advance.
Usually if you go to the ER ask the person who does your check in about financial aid paper work. She can get you some to fill out you send it in. But usually there is a short time frame when you have to have them in by. Then most places will reduce your bill drastically or erase the whole bill. You do not want to take cipro was it? For a respiratory infection. Urgent care will want money up front to see you, so the er would be your best bet. Ask them to prescribe you meds that are on the cheap list at stores around you. Kroger's here has a 4.00 generic list, target does too I think maybe. Meijer if you have one of those has certain antibiotics for free. Check Walmart too they may have the cheaper list too. If you have a Costco around you you can use their pharmacy without being a member. If its an expensive prescription go there they are the cheapest 9times out of 10. Good luck I hope you can get to feeling better
Hi Greg, no one seemed to answer your actual question. Ciproflaxacin is neither a Sulfa or Penicillin antibiotic and has multiple uses, pick; your choice: https://www.drugs.com/ingredient/ciprofloxacin.html
When you have picked your disease pick your treatment regime if you refuse to get the correct antibiotics.
