I take 20 mg of citalopram for anxiety and 10 mg of ambien for sleep, is this combination safe?

If the same Dr prescribed both medications and you follow the instructions from that Dr yes, this should be safe. If not, the Dr that prescribed the Citalopram should be asked about the Ambien. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply. I would only use Ambien as needed... not on a nightly basis for sure. I don't want to become dependent on it. Thanks, again.

The side effects including drowsiness, mental alertness, co-ordination etc. are additive. As long as you take the ambien and go to bed (and not drive or do anything that involves concentration) you will be fine.
