She has been stable on lasix twice a day.Her kidney function started to decline a month ago so the doctor decrease her lasix from 40mg to 20mg a day.Sense then her legs and feet are swelling more and her oxygen stats are decreasing from the usual 97% to 94%.She is also more tired. She went for labs last week and the doctor called 2 days ago and ordered for her lasix to be decreased more to give only on M-W-F only.I am very worried that she is going to get really sick. Can anyone suggest a differant kind of diuretic that not as bad as lasix.Or does anyone agree with me when I think she should stay on her lasix because I feel she is at more risk of filling up with fluid than going into kidney failure
Her doctor would have done the right thing ... as he/she has knowledge of the actual blood results. If they thought it appropriate to change her diuretic they would have. It's best discuss your concerns with her doctor.
I'm sure they will explain the reasoning for decreasing the dose of Lasix.
