Im getting a severe headache at night its so bad that my face goes into a cold sweat I feel like there pressure behind my eye and heaviness allover my head neck and shoulders nothing make the pain go away
My guess is sinus pressure. Sinus pressure is worse when you lay down, due to gravity sinus drainage pools instead of draining. so you feel pressure behind the eyes and can make your head feel heavy. Often we tense up in response to headache so this could account for the neck and shoulder pain-you are tensing against the pain. You might want to see your Dr to see if you have a sinus infection or it could be allergy related. You dont always have congestion or nasal drainage with sinus trouble. It could be draining down the back of your throat in the daytime so therefore you dont notice it until you lay down and the pressure builds up in the sinuses. If your PCP has no answers, see an ENT (otolaryngologist).
Can youtry relaxing and rolling your head from side to side? You can try doing deep breathing excercises. Having experienced this, I can feel you desperation. Lyrica seems to ward this off, to a point. Also hot bath or shower with water pulsing on tender point in shoulder. talk to ur Dr.,Keep a check on ur blood pressure. The fainting is of great concern-call your Dr. let him know. I do know that Laughter is a GREAT med, glad u had a good day with your daughter. Here's to more good days. Fibronut
Try using melatonin in conjunction with any medications you may be taking. You can buy it at your local health store. It will help regulate your sleeping patterns and there are also studies that show evidence of melatonin 3mg being just as effective as amitriptyline 25mg in migraine sufferers. Also, melatonin is not associated with weight gain (it is actually associated with weight loss), unlike amitriptyline
