I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Nasopharyngeal cancer in Oct. 2o17 and started chemo (Cisplatin) 1 day a week and radiation 5 days a week in Dec. 2017 for 7 weeks. After 3 weeks of treatment I got a thrush infection in my mouth that made nearly impossible to eat or drink anything. I wound up in the hospital for 5 days with dehydration and diverticulitis. When I left the hospital I was still so sick from everything I was ready to give up on any treatment of any kind. Thanks to a niece who had colorectal cancer several years ago and went through all of it, talking to me about her treatment I decided to continue my treatment. I still have 2 weeks of treatment left and now have another thrush infection and am afraid of another setback. I keep a glass of ice chips with me everywhere I go and it helps but still not enough to keep back the dehydration. I have also had a feeding tube put in to help with nutrition and hydration. It makes a big difference but the formula I use makes me more nauseaous. When I saw your post and saw that our cases were so very similar even though it has been so long time since you posted your question I would really like to hear how you have done with your treatment. Thank you and hope this finds you well and blessed.
