Bacterial and fungal corneal ulcers have developed during treatment with gentamicin ophthalmic preparations.
Prolonged use of topical antibiotics may give rise to overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms including fungi. Bacterial resistance to gentamicin may also develop.
